(CNN Spanish) --

Two people accused of kidnapping migrants in Texas, and identified by United States authorities, were detained in Michoacán this Sunday, a source from the Attorney General's Office of that Mexican state told CNN.

Americans Santiago Hernández Jr., 26, and Lorie Lin Flowers, 25, face charges of complicity in a kidnapping, the FBI detailed in a publication on the social network X.

Hernández and Flowers are at the disposal of the Public Ministry, awaiting legal procedures to be handed over to the FBI, which offered a reward of US$5,000 for information leading to the capture of each one.

According to an information card from the United States Department of Justice, Hernández and Flores participated with other people already detained in the kidnapping of three undocumented migrants, and for which they obtained ransom from relatives.

The others involved in this case have already been arrested and face criminal proceedings.

The capture of these two fugitives coincided with the visit to Morelia this weekend of Ken Salazar, United States ambassador to Mexico.
