Union Human Resource Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday that students will have the option to appear for class 10th and 12th board exams twice from the academic session 2025-26. He said these things on the occasion of launching the 'PM Shri' (Prime Minister School for Rising India) scheme in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

Highlighting the Centre's plan under the National Education Policy, Pradhan said that from the academic session 2025-26, students will get the opportunity to appear in the class 10th and 12th board exams twice. He said that through the new education policy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision is to keep students stress-free, enrich them with quality, keep them connected with culture and prepare them for the future. This is the formula to make India a developed country by 2047.

Students will be connected with art, culture and sports

The Union Minister said that in the first phase of 'PM Shri Yojana', 211 schools (193 primary level and 18 secondary schools) in Chhattisgarh will be upgraded on 'hub and spoke model'. He said that as per the demand of State Education Minister Brijmohan Agarwal, more secondary and higher secondary schools will be brought under the ambit of the scheme in the next phase of the scheme. Pradhan also spoke about the concept of starting '10 bag free days' in the school every year and stressed on connecting students with art, culture and sports etc. Pradhan also criticized the previous Congress government in the state, saying that education was not a matter of priority in the previous government, whereas the efforts of the newly elected Vishnu Dev Sai regime show that education is their priority.
