Pune (Maharashtra):

There is talk of Sunetra Pawar, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, contesting the elections from Baramati against Supriya Sule. Now Supriya Sule has given her reaction on these speculations. NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar leader Supriya Sule said on Sunday that "anyone can contest elections in a democracy." Before the Lok Sabha elections to be held this year, the fight for Baramati has intensified. Baramati is considered the stronghold of Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule.

Sule told news agency ANI, "How can this be a family fight? Anyone can contest elections in a democracy. I had also said yesterday that if they have a strong candidate, I am ready to talk to that candidate." I am. Whatever may be the topic, whatever time or place they decide, I am ready to sit and discuss."

Supriya Sule also talked about the issues on which she will contest the elections. She said, "I am contesting the Parliament elections. Unemployment, price rise, Paytm issue and electoral bond scam... people who are accused of corruption... all those who are corrupt... if they are convicted... All of them are joining BJP." He also said, "Whether there is corruption in the country or not, it is a big issue."

His comments come after the recent decision of the Supreme Court, in which the electoral bond scheme has been declared "unconstitutional".

Supriya Sule's latest comment comes a day after pictures of NCP chief Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra were seen in campaign vehicles in Baramati. The campaign vehicle had a banner with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) symbol and photographs of Sunetra Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

Supriya Sule is a three-time Lok Sabha member

This constituency has been represented many times by Sharad Pawar. Presently his daughter Supriya Sule represents it. Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has traditionally been the stronghold of Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule.

Supriya Sule was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2006, after which she was elected as a Lok Sabha member for three consecutive terms in 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Sunetra Pawar comes from a political family.

Sunetra Pawar is a social worker and belongs to a political family. His brother is a senior politician and former minister Padmasingh Patil.

Sunetra Pawar is the founder of Environmental Forum of India. It is an NGO, which was established in 2010. Sunetra Pawar also serves as a trustee for the famous educational institution Vidya Pratishthan. She has been a think tank member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum in France since 2011.
