The chairman of the intelligence committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Republican Mike Turner, published a message about a serious threat to national security and called on the White House to declassify all information about it.

According to CNN, citing its own sources and an unnamed American official, this threat to US national security is related to Russia.

Several sources familiar with the intelligence described the intelligence as "highly sensitive."

The publication states that one of the sources, who has seen the intelligence, confirmed that "this is actually a very disturbing and destabilizing" Russian capability that the US has recently become aware of.

Mike Turner sent a letter to his colleagues in Congress saying there is an urgent concern "about foreign military destabilization."

In a letter to congressmen, Turner noted that the House Intelligence Committee voted on Feb. 13 to release certain information to lawmakers for review. Turner also asks US President Joe Biden to declassify "all information related to this threat."

To recall, Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said he arranged a meeting with top lawmakers on the Homeland Security Committees before Turner publicly warned of what he called a "serious threat to national security." The meeting was scheduled for Thursday, February 15.
