Thane, Maharashtra:

A surprising case has emerged from Thane, Maharashtra. In Kalyan town here, a wife tried to kill her husband by setting him on fire over domestic dispute. After which he was taken to the hospital. The victim is currently admitted to the hospital and is being treated.


Police said that the woman carried out the incident with the help of two others. An FIR has been registered against the woman for allegedly trying to kill her 61-year-old husband by setting him on fire. The other two youths are accused in the case, who are friends of the victim's daughter. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

According to the statement recorded by the injured person at the
hospital, the man's wife used to argue with him over his monthly pension and objection to two youths visiting his house repeatedly. A police officer said the two youths used to visit their house frequently. The victim had earlier lodged a police complaint against the two youths, claiming threat to her life. He said the victim was attacked by two youths.

Further investigation is underway
The officer, citing the FIR, said that on the night of December 8, someone poured some inflammable liquid on him while his wife started the fire. In his statement, the victim said that his neighbours rushed him to the hospital. Further investigation is underway.
