In the center of Kyiv on December 9, utilities dismantled a monument to Soviet figure Mykola Shchors. Specialists of KP "Kyivblagoustriy" worked on the dismantling of the 7-ton structure for six hours.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

They also added that various heavy equipment was involved in the dismantling work, so it was necessary to partially block traffic on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.

The monument will be kept in the State Aviation Museum of Ukraine. O. K. Antonova.

More than 60 monuments related to the history and culture of Russia and the USSR have already been removed in Kyiv. Currently, the city is working on facilities from which the government has removed its protection status.
