The United States has already invested $27 billion in contracts for the production of weapons for Ukraine.

This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the Defense Industries Conference.

He expressed hope that Congress would approve further funding.

"We have already invested about $27 billion in more than 35 states in contracts to produce critical assets for Ukraine, including vital air defense systems, ammunition, tactical vehicles, and other equipment," Austin said.

He noted that President Joe Biden has set a clear task that Ukraine must preserve its sovereignty and ability to defend itself against possible Russian aggressions in the future.

Earlier, it was reported that the draft law on providing assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan did not pass a procedural vote in the Senate of the United States Congress.

In addition, we previously reported that the Pentagon named the exact amount of money left for military aid to Ukraine.
