The Armed Forces of Ukraine continued ground operations on the left bank of the Kherson region and a counteroffensive in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region.

This is stated in a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

ISW analysts emphasize that on December 6, the Russian occupation forces conducted limited ground attacks in the area of the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The invaders did not achieve any confirmed successes. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces repelled Russian army attacks near Novodonetsk and south of Zolota Nyva.

American experts emphasize that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued counteroffensive operations in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region on December 6. However, they did not achieve any confirmed successes. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the day before, the Defense Forces repelled at least five Russian attacks west of Verbovo and Robotyne.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued ground operations on the left bank of the Kherson region. A geolocated video published on December 5 confirms that Russian forces maintain positions on islands in the Dnipro River south of Veletenke in Kherson Oblast. However, the ISW emphasizes, it does not follow from this footage that the occupiers have recently advanced in the area, and they have probably held these positions for some time.
