Heavy rains in Chennai due to Cyclone Michuang caused flooding in many parts of the city. Now a video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In which layers of oil are seen floating on the water. According to the information, this video is from Ennore area. After the video went viral, the police are trying to find the source of the oil. There are many oil refineries in the area where this video is from. However, Chennai Petrochemicals Limited (CPCL) has denied any leakage at its refinery in Manali (an industrial area of Chennai).

"We are investigating," a statement said. "Incessant rain caused by Cyclone Migjam has caused unprecedented flooding inside the refinery. Other industries in Manali have also been badly affected. Despite the flood situation in and around the refinery, the CPCL team has reached the spot and ensured uninterrupted and safe operation of the refinery.

Crude oil has spilled into the Buckingham Canal

Crude oil has reportedly spilled into the Buckingham Canal, an important waterway in the region. In the viral video, oil, like a deep stain, is flowing on the surface of the canal. It is also connected by a river. This crisis is expected to cause heavy pollution in the water. Chennai and its adjoining districts are still reeling under severe waterlogging even days after Chennai and its adjoining districts received torrential rains due to cyclone Migjam. Flood water continues to persist on roads and other places, causing inconvenience to people. Meanwhile, the occurrence of oil spills has increased even more problems.
