German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that the German defense industry is increasing capacity "wherever it can", but this will take time. According to him, there is currently a delay in the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

DW writes about it.

As Pistorius noted, production capacity is planned to be increased as soon as possible, as the German defense industry is currently not keeping up with the demand that exists in certain areas. We are talking about the production of ammunition and air defense systems. After setting up these processes, it will be possible to produce weapons quickly and uninterruptedly.

"It's a matter of speed, and you can't have unlimited influence on speed," he said.

The minister recalled that earlier such a situation was with the production of ammunition for Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns: it took Germany six months to restore it.

"We supply everything we can," Boris Pistorius summed up.

To recap, the Rheinmetall concern began to produce artillery shells for Ukraine.
