On 6 December, a car carrying Oleg Popov, a so-called "deputy" of the "People's Council of the LPR", was blown up in occupied Luhansk.
This is reported by local publics and Russian media outlets.
In the middle of the day, an explosion rang out near the Avangard stadium in Luhansk. As it turned out, it exploded Popov's car with him in the cabin. The car was engulfed in flames and burned to the ground, as evidenced by photos and videos from the scene of the incident.
At first, Russian propagandists claimed that the "deputy" was seriously injured but survived. Later, they said that Popov had died.
It should be noted that in September 2022, an attempt was already made on Popov's life, but then he survived.
