The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Russian positions in a forest belt south of Stepove, near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders have regained their lost positions.

This was reported by analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

"Ukrainian forces recently counterattacked near Avdiivka and regained lost positions as of December 1. Geolocated footage released on December 4 shows Ukrainian forces attacking Russian positions in a strip of trees south of Stepove around December 1," the US analysts said in a report.

In addition, geolocated footage shows that the occupiers allegedly advanced near the reservoir north of Avdiivka. In turn, Russian "war correspondents" claimed that heavy fighting continued near the Avdiivka Coke Plant, as well as in the industrial zone.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian General Staff reported unsuccessful offensive operations by Russian troops east of Novokalynove and Novobakhmutivka, as well as near Avdiivka itself, Stepove, Siverne and Pervomaiske.

Recall that the head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration Vitaliy Barabash said that they are waiting for a cold snap, because now they cannot use the equipment due to unfavorable weather.
