In Kyiv, a man was convicted for coming up with a way to weigh down a supermarket. For this, he was sentenced to community service, but was released, as the deadlines for consideration of the proceedings had passed.

This is stated in the verdict of the Darnytskyi District Court of Kyiv.

According to the court, the man bought meat in a supermarket, but weighed it incorrectly. In particular, he purchased 7 kg 400 grams of turkey fillet, almost 7 kg of pork. For this, the man paid 69 UAH. This was noticed by the security of the store and detained the Kyiv resident.

In court, the man explained that he really wanted to buy meat for his birthday. He weighed everything and paid at self-service checkouts. Then the guards detained him and offered to weigh the goods. Since he did not have a passport with him, the guards called the police. Then the meat was outweighed and it turned out that its weight was different.

A supermarket employee said that "a security guard called him and said that the goods were not weighed correctly, namely the buyer took more, and the weight at the checkout was less." The goods were taken away from the buyer, and therefore the supermarket has no claims against the suspect.

The court found that the suspect weighed the goods on the scales, while holding them so that the weight showed a figure much less than the real one. Therefore, instead of 1500 UAH, the man paid 70 UAH.

The court found the man guilty under Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 1 Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man was sentenced to 200 hours of public hours, but the case was closed due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
