On Sunday, December 3, residents of Avdiivka and the village of Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region became victims of artillery shelling by the Russian army.

This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Donetsk oblast.

As a result of the shelling of the city of Avdiivka, a 64-year-old local received a through shrapnel wound. At the time of the enemy attack, the man was in his own yard, which is located near the war zone.

The occupying forces also targeted the village of Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk district. A 70-year-old woman received gunshot shrapnel wounds, and her 69-year-old fellow villager died on the spot from her injuries. Both victims were caught by enemy fire on the street.

The prosecutor's office clarified that the Russian army shelled the settlements, probably using barrel artillery.

During the shelling, private households were damaged by explosions.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated in criminal proceedings for violating the laws and customs of war (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Earlier, the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, was subjected to massive shelling by the Russians. They hit the city center with rockets, damaging buildings and injuring people.
