Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reopened Dubai's Casa del Habano, the largest in the Middle East, as part of his meeting with Emirati businessmen linked to food production, tourism, renewable energy sources and the pharmaceutical sector.

"I had a fruitful exchange with Emirati businessmen about the various business opportunities in Cuba, in order to develop joint projects in sectors of common interest and boost economic, commercial, financial and cooperation ties between the two countries," Díaz-Canel wrote in X.

Mohammed Mohebi, president of Baquer Mohebi Enterprises and Habanos distributor in the United Arab Emirates, said that the nation is the largest market for Cuban cigars in the region.

He also reviewed the history and roots of the cigar in the UAE.

The businessman thanked Cuban medical help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It opens up a lot of possibilities, to boost mutually beneficial economic development. I assure you of all the support you to invest in our country, in any type of business," said President Díaz-Canel.
