New Delhi: Union ministers on Tuesday lauded the successful operation to rescue 41 workers trapped in an under-construction road tunnel in Uttarakhand.

S Jaishankar said on 'X', "We will leave no stone unturned to save our loved ones. "I appreciate the grit and determination of those who faced such adversity without losing hope," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly to save the laborers.

"It is a great news for the country that all our 41 migrant brothers trapped in a tunnel in Uttarkashi have been rescued safely and soundly. The nation salutes their courage to face such a challenging situation for so long in the tunnel."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, "I am extremely happy to hear the news of the safe evacuation of all the laborers trapped in the tunnel accident in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The entire country was watching this campaign. The entire country has heaved a sigh of relief with its success."

He said that it is a happy moment for the families of all the laborers. "The biggest contribution in rescuing all these workers trapped in extremely difficult and challenging circumstances is from all the agencies engaged in relief and rescue work like NDRF, SDRF, Uttarakhand Police and Indian Army. I heartily congratulate all of them."

Singh said That Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself kept taking regular information about this operation and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami was present on the spot and monitored the progress of this rescue work.

"I also deeply appreciate the role and sensitivity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Dhami, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and VK Singh," he wrote.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said the labourers trapped in the tunnel at Silkyara have been rescued after a day-and-night struggle.

Goyal wrote on 'X', "The laborers trapped in the tunnel in Silkyara have been safely rescued after day and night efforts. Due to the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and constant monitoring of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, this work was done continuously.

"I heartily thank all the workers, security force personnel and experts involved in this work, who have dedicated every moment and brought happiness to the families of our labourer brothers," he wrote.
