Mumbai:

Naxals have started carrying out target killings in Gadchiroli, a Naxal-affected district of Maharashtra. In the last 15 days so far, three tribals have been killed for being police informers. The three killed are said to be close to the minister. At the same time, the government has claimed to intensify the anti-Naxal campaign in the district. In Gadchiroli district, pamphlets are being left near the body after carrying out a Naxal murder. It is written on it that stay with the people, improve or else the public will not forgive. Naxals, who claim to be members of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), have killed three tribals so far in the last 15 days.

Three murders in the last 15 days

On November 15, Dinesh Gawade was murdered at Pangunda in Bhamragad taluk. On November 23, Patil Lalsu Velda of Titola in Etapalli taluk and Ramji Atram of Kapewancha in Aheri taluk were killed on November 24.

Government announces to end Naxalism

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has claimed that the government is committed to eliminating Naxalism and the campaign against them has been intensified. Maharashtra Minister Dharmarao Baba Atram has said that the policeman who was killed was also my man, the person who killed Gawade was also my man, the one who was Atram was also my man. The Home Department should pay attention to this and give protection to the people. It is the responsibility of the government to provide protection. It is the government's responsibility to keep me safe as I am in the government.
