When is Masik Shivratri? Monthly Shivaratri Date

According to the Hindu calendar, the chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha in the month of Margashirsha is on December 11, Saturday. The Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha will start at 11.7 am on December 10 and will end at 12.6 am on Sunday, December 24. Keeping in mind the udya tithi, the fast of Masik Shivaratri (Masik Shivratri Vrat) will be observed on December 11.

Many special yogas are being made on this day. This time on Masik Shivaratri, rare Sukarma Yoga and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga are being created. It is believed that by worshiping in this yoga, devotees have special blessings of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.

Menstrual Shivaratri Puja Vidhi

To worship on Masik Shivaratri, a resolution is taken to fast after bathing in the morning. After taking the vow of fasting, devotees offer arghya to The Sun God and meditate on Lord Shiva. Shivaratri is usually worshiped by visiting the temple. In the puja, bhang, white colored flowers, madar flowers, dhatura and akshat etc. are offered. The Shivalinga is anointed with Panchamrit and belpatra is also offered. After the puja, aarti is performed and wishes are sought.
