In the Volyn region, a man who is a pensioner received a summons, but refused to be mobilized. For this, he was sentenced to probation.

This is stated in the verdict of the Manevychi District Court of the Volyn region.

According to the court, in June 2023, the military medical commission recognized the man as fit for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, on September 20, the man refused to receive a summons.

At the trial, the Volyn resident pleaded guilty and repented. He did not report the reasons for refusing to be called up for mobilization.

The court took into account the fact that the man is a pensioner and is raising two minor children. He had not been tried before.

The Manevychi District Court of the Volyn region found the man guilty under Art. 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 3 years in prison, replacing the real term with two years of probation. This decision can still be appealed to the Court of Appeal.
