Bike taxis will now be able to run legally in Delhi. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot has said that the notification of the policy will be issued by this evening. For the first time in Delhi, the Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme will be notified. Under this scheme, bike taxis will also be able to run legally in Delhi.

The license must be obtained within 90 days.

The Transport Minister of Delhi said that by the year 2030, all vehicles will be electric. Taxi aggregators like Ola, Uber as well as delivery service operators like Swiggy, Zomato will also come under this scheme. Service providers like e-commerce like Amazon, Flipkart will also be added. This policy will be applicable to a fleet of more than 25. For this, the aggregator will have to get a license within 90 days. This license will be given for 5 years. The Delhi minister said that there will be no fee on electric vehicles.

People of Delhi will get big relief

The cab (four-wheeler) aggregator will also have to make all vehicles electric in 5 years. While bike taxis will have to be kept electric from the beginning. The Delhi government has not said anything about surge pricing in the policy at present. This decision will provide relief to lakhs of people living in Delhi, who use bike taxis to reach their destination as soon as possible. At the same time, those driving bike taxis will also get great relief from this decision. He will also be able to legally drive bike taxis in the capital.
