Parliament adopted at first and second reading amendments to the Film Industry Act, which eliminate inconsistencies in the texts. Everywhere the word "persons" shall be replaced by "children" in the warning signs and signs of harmful content for them, the amendments provide.
The bill was submitted by Radomir Cholakov from GERB-UDF. According to him, the texts of the Film Industry Act should be synchronized with the Child Protection Act, within the meaning of which "child" is any individual until the age of 18.
In his motives, Cholakov points out that the Film Industry Act uses both the terms "children" and "persons" for the same thing and this inaccuracy should be corrected and the text should be synchronized with the definitions of the Child Protection Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
