Know what is rat hole mining
In rat hole mining, excavation is done like a rat. Rat means rat, hole means hole and mining means digging. In this process, digging is done like a rat by entering a hole. In this process, digging starts on the side of the mountain from a thin hole and then the pole is made and gradually drilled with a small hand drilling machine.

After the drill, the debris is taken out by hand. Just as a rat enters a hole and digs the soil and then brings the soil out, rat hole mining is done.

#WATCH Uttarakhand: Rescue operations are still underway in Uttarkashi tunnel accident where 41 workers are stranded. The drone video is from the scene.

Uttarakhand CM tweeted, "... The work of laying pipes inside the tunnel has been completed. Soon all the workers will be evacuated. "

Rat hole mining has been used in coal mining in India. Rat hole mining used to happen in states like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, but this process of inning is very dangerous, there have been many accidents in it. Therefore, it has also been banned many times. But in the Uttarkashi tunnel accident, this old technology made way for the workers to reach.

Rat miners
were called from Delhi and Jhansi to reach out to the laborers in the
Uttarakhand tunnel accident. Six rat hole miners arrived at the site on Sunday. These rat miners were called by private company Trenchless Engineering Services.

They have demonstrated their tunnelling capacity while laying water pipelines in many states including Delhi. This team of 6 people arrived here with drill machines. They started digging by entering an 800 mm pipe and are now about to reach the workers.

Parsadi Lodi, a rat hole miner from Jhansi, said, "I am not afraid of going to the tunnel. Here there is an 800 mm pipe, we can do rat mining even by entering the 600 mm pipe. Rakesh, who came from Jhansi with Parsadi, said that our effort is that the laborers trapped in the tunnel come out through us. After all, they are also labourers like us. We do not want to delay this work at all. If all goes well, it will take 18 hours to start.
