Due to snowfalls, strong winds and ice in Odesa oblast, rescuers have already freed 1927 people from snow traps, of which 138 children have been rescued.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, announced this on November 27.

As for the cars that shook due to the storm on the roads, 538 vehicles have been towed so far, including 18 buses and 12 ambulances.

Kiper said that 218 vehicles of the State Emergency Service and more than 800 people were involved in clearing the roads.

According to him, the situation in the Odesa region is improving, in particular due to the stabilization of weather conditions and a smaller number of desperate people who decided to contradict the elements and hit the road at all costs.

"We are doing everything possible to complete all rescue operations as soon as possible. Stay safe, do not leave your home unless absolutely necessary, give the rescuers, police officers, power engineers, utility workers the opportunity to complete their work," Kiper added.

Recall that the situation in Odesa, which has developed due to bad weather, is currently difficult. Many houses were left without electricity and water supply, and the storm knocked down dozens of trees. Also, part of the electric transport does not work in the city.

There are also reports of human casualties during bad weather. For example, the body of a man with hypothermia was found in Shchepny Lane in Odesa, and the body of a woman was found at a bus stop on Akademik Lazarev.
