The Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC provides a unique opportunity to accelerate collective action towards addressing the common challenge of climate change. During COP-26 in Glasgow, Prime Minister Modi had announced five specific goals called "Panchamrit" as part of India's unprecedented contribution to climate action.

PM Modi had also announced Mission Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) on that occasion. Climate change has been an important priority area of India's G20 presidency. During India's presidency, important new steps have been taken regarding the announcement of new Delhi's leaders and other decisions. COP-28 will provide an opportunity to build on these successes.

During his visit to Dubai, PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with some of the leaders attending the summit.
