The Russian Federation boasted of the production of attack UAVs of the helicopter type "Termit", which is produced by NPP "Strela". This happened during the visit of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev to the Rudnevo Industrial Park in Moscow.

Defense Express writes about it.

The Termit drone was first demonstrated in 2020. The contract for an unannounced number of these drones was signed in 2021 with a relatively short deadline. Of these, at least three are already at relatively high levels of readiness.

In November 2021, the Kronstadt group of companies announced the first tests of the Termit with the launch of guided missiles, the integration of which into this drone is the main task.

"The armament of the Termit helicopter-type UAV should be S-8L guided missiles with semi-active laser guidance. In fact, it is an analogue of APKWS, but with a much higher degree of conversion of the basic unguided rocket. At exhibitions, this drone was demonstrated with three launchers. The S-8L has two additional blocks: with folding wings in the middle hull and a homing head in the nose, and in APKWS both of these elements are combined into one module. The declared range of the S-8L is up to 6 km. The equipment is a high-explosive fragmentation warhead," the message says.

Meanwhile, the Termit drone itself is a combat version of the UAV-VT 450, and Strela NNP began to develop it at the level of 2016. There is also a civilian version of this drone in the SmartHELI-450 version.
