Germany will strengthen military support for Ukraine to defend itself against Russian aggressors both at the level of the European Union and at the level of the North Atlantic Alliance.

This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, informs Tages Schau.

She noted that Ukrainians can continue to count on support from Germany.

"It is clear that in the foreseeable future, Ukraine will strengthen the EU, our EU," the politician said.

In addition, Baerbock noted that it is "in our own, geopolitical interests for Ukraine to join the European Union."

"Since Russia's attack in February 2022, horrific footage has been circulating from Ukraine for more than 650 days. Therefore, we will not only continue our support for Ukraine, but also strengthen it. In the EU, as well as in NATO," she said.

Earlier, it was reported that Germany had extended the status of protection of Ukrainian refugees.
