(CNN Español) -- A CESSNA 402 plane crashed Friday in a wooded area less than 5 kilometers from the Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport in Panama City, the Central American country's Civil Aviation Authority reported on its X account, formerly Twitter.

Two pilots were on board the plane, according to authorities. One survivor has already been rescued and taken to receive medical attention.

Panamanian authorities reported the suspension of operations at the airport after the accident.
