In a pub in the Dutch city of Groningen, pro-Russian politician Thierry Baudet was attacked during an election event.

This was reported by NOS.

The report indicates that this is not the first attack on the leader of the FVD Forum for Democracy party.

Bode, along with other FVD candidates, was in a pub when the attacker hit him on the back of the head with a bottle. The politician's bodyguard also suffered facial injuries.

The attacker was detained by Bode's bodyguards and handed over to the police, while Bode himself was taken to the hospital, where he was examined by a trauma surgeon.

It is reported that another election event with the participation of the politician, scheduled for tonight in the city of Zwolle, had to be canceled.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte condemned the attack, calling it "completely unacceptable."

Earlier, it was reported that the Netherlands announced additional military aid for Ukraine.

In addition, we previously reported that the Dutch authorities want to check the Russian taxi application Yango, which is owned by Yandex, regarding the transfer of customer data to the FSB.
