Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis responded to a threat from the odious representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. She accused the head of Lithuanian diplomacy of calling for a violent change of power in Russia and said that he could be prosecuted in Russia for this.

Landsbergis' ironic response to this nonsense is reported by Delfi.

"I hope that the tribunal for the Russian leadership for aggression against Ukraine will be held faster than the tribunal for Landsbergis in Russia," the Lithuanian minister said.

According to Zakharova, "extremist appeals" were voiced during a meeting between Gabrielius Landsbergis and Russian businessman Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

By threatening with criminal liability, the odious diplomat probably meant the trial of Landsbergis in absentia, since he is officially banned from entering the Russian Federation.

In March 2023, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now the Kremlin dictator risks being arrested if he visits one of the more than 120 countries that have ratified the Rome Statute.
