The Pentagon does not announce the number of ATACMS missiles transferred to Ukraine, but emphasizes that these weapons should be used exclusively within sovereign Ukrainian territory.
This was stated on October 20, 2023 by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder, Ukrinform reports.
"I can't go into details about the number of ATACMS we have delivered. However, like all other systems and equipment that we have transferred to Ukraine, they have been backed up by assurances that they will be used within the borders of sovereign Ukraine to turn back and protect sovereign Ukrainian territory," the defense spokesman said.
He also added that the United States of America will continue consultations with Ukraine, as well as allies and partners to provide our country with everything necessary to defend itself against Russian aggression.

On October 17, Ukraine launched ATACMS missiles at Russian positions in the occupied territories. This was the first time that these long-range weapons, provided by the United States, were used in Ukraine.
Later, the White House confirmed the provision of ATACMS missiles with a range of 165 kilometers to Ukraine. The video of the launch of ATACMS missiles has already been released by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The missiles themselves were most likely launched from the HIMARS MLRS.
