DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzanian government and the United States have entered into a trade negotiation agreement that will help access the markets for goods.
The agreement was entered into on October 19, 2023 in Dar es Salaam, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, who said greater efforts are needed to promote trade and investment in various aspects including the digital economy and access to markets in the United States.
Kijaji said the negotiating agreement document would help promote Tanzania's trade and trade promotion between Tanzania and the United States to boost the economy.
In addition, Dr Kijaji said Tanzania's trade to the US is still very small, not meeting the opportunities available in the country until 2022, Tanzania's exports to the United States were only $74.5 million.
U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania Michael Battle said Tanzania's relationship with the United States is very strong in economic development.
Tanzania Industrial Federation Director Leodgartenga said they were very happy to have a good relationship.
