Analysts suggest that by the end of the year, egg prices in Ukraine may rise by 10-15%. Monologue record rises are not expected.

This was reported by UNIAN.

The final price is influenced by many factors

The Ukrainian Agribusiness Club expects last year's figure to be about UAH 75 per dozen. At the same time, the price of the product is unlikely to be more than 75 hryvnias. The fact is that growth will be limited by the purchasing power of the population.

Director of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine Serhiy Karpenko assures that a significant increase in egg prices, which was observed last fall, is not predicted.

"According to our estimates, the possible increase in prices by the end of the year will be 10-15%," said Sergiy Karpenko, Director of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine.

Experts explained that this year the cost of eggs is influenced, first of all, by the seasonal factor.

"Poultry significantly increases egg production in the warm summer months and significantly decreases in the cold winter months. In industrial production, there are no such fluctuations. Accordingly, the price reacts to changes in supply," explained Svitlana Lytvyn, an analyst at the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club.

However, seasonality is not the only factor that affects the final price. It is also about increasing the cost of electricity and fuel. Moreover, we should not forget about the factor of the National Bank's transition from a fixed to a flexible exchange rate.

"This has already led to an increase in the price of foreign currency, for which producers buy daily young animals, feed additives, veterinary drugs, equipment, etc. Further growth of the exchange rate will have a negative impact on the cost of production," said Sergiy Karpenko.

Recall that in May, egg prices in Ukrainian supermarkets decreased by almost 10 hryvnias compared to April.
