In the village of Revivka in the Cherkasy region, a man opened fire. First, he fired at a local resident's car, then barricaded himself in his house, threatened the riot police with a grenade and fired a shotgun at a policeman.

This was reported by the police of Cherkasy oblast.

"Yesterday, at about 16:00 p.m., the police received a report from a man that an unknown person fired at his car with a rifle in the village of Revivka in Cherkasy region. At his call, law enforcement officers immediately left. A special police operation was put into action and fighters of the KORD special unit were involved," the statement said.

Before the police arrived, the man barricaded himself in his house, and when the riot police tried to unblock it, he took out a grenade and threatened to detonate it. Despite the lawful demands of the police, the attacker opened fire in their direction and wounded one of the law enforcement officers.

The man was disarmed and detained by KORD fighters. Firearms, ammunition, as well as a grenade and other material evidence were seized from him. The detainee was placed in a temporary detention center.

The wounded policeman was hospitalized. He was operated on. He is under the supervision of doctors.
