Heavy rains caused flooding and landslides in the Black Sea counties of Rize, Artvin and Trabzon (northeastern Turkey), CNN-Turk reported.

Many rivers have been reported to have overflowed. Because of the heavy rains, the Rize-Güneysu road collapsed, forming a pit 8 meters deep.

In many places in the region there are problems with movement.

Teams of the Directorate for Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) and the Search and Rescue Society (ACUT) have been sent to the area.

Heavy rain began yesterday afternoon, and in the evening it intensified.
