The first Abrams tanks have already arrived in Ukraine. The White House and the Pentagon, according to Western media, plan to transfer another 30 such tanks to Ukraine. It is the Abrams that is considered one of the best tanks.

Why the Abrams is a powerful tank

Ukraine did not have a single Western tank before the full-scale war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fought only on T-64 and T-72. Last week, after Zelenskyy's visit to the United States, the first Abrams arrived in Ukraine. Despite this, there are only a small number of them in Ukraine.

Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, explains that Abrams will only participate in well-planned military operations. Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer for the Information Resistance project, emphasizes that the occupiers are extremely afraid of American tanks.

"With depleted uranium shells, this is probably the most powerful nomenclature of all the ammunition of this tank, which can counteract any Russian, relatively speaking, modern tank. Today, the Russians do not have a single tank that could counteract, resist such a shot," says Oleksandr Kovalenko.

How are the problems with Leopard in Ukraine?

Experts note that Leopard tanks are also very powerful, but with a certain modification. The Ukrainian military says that the first batches of the armored vehicles that Western partners sent to Ukraine do not have powerful armor.

"The Leopard-1 is a fraternal large metal coffin, because it is a tank with cardboard armor. Its only advantage is that its gun is very cool - 155 mm rifled, it is like a sniper rifle, but this tank, for example, for 20-30 mm ammunition, it is vulnerable already at a distance of 100 m, any BMP-2 can pierce its armor on the turret at a distance of 100-200 m," Oleksandr Kovalenko said.

Ukraine even refused part of the Leopard earlier, and Denmark confirmed this. 12 out of 20 of these tanks turned out to be defective. It is not known when a more modern version of this armored vehicle will arrive in Ukraine.

Russian tank "Armata": what a military expert says

Meanwhile, the occupiers are already bragging about the Armata tank. However, the military expert notes that this project is unsuccessful, and the occupiers' statements about the appearance of this armored vehicle at the front are cheap PR.

Armata is a project that has not been brought to order at all and will never be completed. The Armata is not capable of operating on the ground in real combat conditions. They have a problem with the transmission, there is a problem with the fire control system, in general, they have a lot of problems," Oleksandr Kovalenko said.

This is also recognized by the occupiers. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed a huge number of Russian tanks, but they will still have thousands of scrap metal in their warehouses.
