Jaipur: Rajmata Swaroopa Devi of Jhalawar royal family and Jhala dynasty died at a hospital in Delhi on Monday after a prolonged illness. As soon as this information was received through Jhalawar King Maharaj Rana Chandrajit Singh, rajput community representatives, city dignitaries and representatives of Jhalawar royal family started reaching Darbar Kothi Prithvi Vilas Palace. Rajmata's body was brought to Jhalawar late Tuesday evening. In a short time, the funeral procession will start from the garh complex, which will pass through the main roads of the city to reach Ksharbagh, the funeral place of the royal family, where they will be given a final farewell.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje along with her MP son Dushyant Singh reached the dak bungalow in Jhalawar on Tuesday night. It is being told that Prithvi will reach Vilas Palace and meet the members of the royal family, and pay her last respects to Rajmata. Rajmata Swaroopa Devi was the daughter of Maharaja Manvendra Shah Sahib Bahadur of Tehri Garhwal. She was married to Maharaja Rana Inderjit Singh on 19 April 1968. As soon as the news of Rajmata's death at the age of 80 was received, a wave of mourning spread in the entire Jhalawar city.
