MOROCCO have won the chance to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to replace Guinea, who were stripped of the right to host the tournament last year.
Morocco won after losing Algeria, Zambia and joint bids from Benin and Nigeria all to withdraw ahead of the African Football Confederation's Central Committee vote in Cairo on Wednesday.
It is the second time Morocco has hosted the most famous sports tournament in Africa, they also hosted in 1988.
Three countries from East Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have won the 2027 tournament, bringing the tournament back to the region for the first time since 1976.
They defeated Botswana, Egypt and Senegal in the CAF Central Committee vote. Algeria were also a candidate but withdrew on Tuesday.
