New Delhi: The CENTRAL Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday began a probe into alleged "wasteful expenditure" or "financial irregularities" in the renovation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. According to the report, the CBI has asked the PWD department of the Delhi government to submit all the documents related to the renovation of the CM's residence by October 3. About Rs 45 crore was spent on the renovation of the CM's residence.
A preliminary enquiry is not a criminal case, but the beginning of a criminal investigation. If evidence of wrongdoing is found, the CBI will register a case. Meanwhile, the statement of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also come out. The AAP said that no matter how much investigation the BJP does, nothing had come out earlier. Nothing will come out now.
In fact, the BJP in Delhi has been alleging that Rs 45 crore was spent on the renovation of the CM's bungalow. The BJP has been claiming that curtains and marbles worth lakhs of rupees were installed during the renovation.
