The limited fire occurred in the kitchen, and the official described the evacuation as a routine precautionary measure, saying guests had safely returned to their rooms.
The hotel is located in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone, home to a parliament, several government buildings and foreign embassies.
On Wednesday, Iraq also witnessed a tragic incident that occurred inside a wedding hall in Nineveh province, which resulted in more than 450 people killed and wounded.
According to a statement issued by the Iraqi Civil Defense, preliminary information indicates "the use of fireworks during the wedding, which ignited the fire inside the hall initially, and the fire spread very quickly and exacerbated the toxic gas emissions associated with the combustion of flammable plastic Ecobond panels, which caused victims and injuries among families, and an investigation was opened and a forensic expert was summoned to confirm the causes of the fire in accordance with the legal procedures followed."
