On the night of September 26, Russian troops staged an extensive attack with Shahed 131/136 kamikaze drones on Ukraine, aimed at various directions, but it was concentrated in the southern regions.

Night attack on Odesa region – consequences

Odesa region suffered from air attacks on the night of September 26, in which the occupiers launched Shahed drones. The attack was again aimed at the port and border infrastructure of the Izmail district.

"The Danube suffered as a result of the hit. There is a fact of fire of vehicles in the waiting area for registration. There is information about two injured drivers who received medical assistance. There was also a serious risk to the passengers of the bus, which was preparing to cross the border. The border infrastructure at the international checkpoint was damaged," said Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces, on the air of the United News telethon.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, clarified that the drones damaged the checkpoint building, warehouses and about 30 trucks. Six trucks caught fire, which have already been extinguished by rescuers.

How many drones were shot down

At the same time, the spokeswoman for the South Operational Command noted the "extremely high" effectiveness of the combat work of the Ukrainian air defense forces. According to Humeniuk, 22 kamikaze drones were destroyed during the night attack, including 10 over Odesa Oblast, 3 over Kherson Oblast, 6 over Mykolaiv Oblast, and 3 over Kirovohrad Oblast.

"That is, a fairly extensive attack directed in different directions, although concentrated in the southern regions," Humeniuk said.

At the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of 26 drones out of 38 UAVs launched by the enemy.

Attack on Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Cherkasy regions

Also at dawn, a ballistic missile exploded in Kryvyi Rih. One of the enterprises was hit in the city. Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul said that there were no casualties.

In the evening and at night, the occupiers also struck Mykolaiv and the region, said the head of the Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim. Thus, Mykolaiv was hit by a missile: an infrastructure facility on the outskirts of the city was hit. The russians launched artillery shelling in an open area outside settlements, and later in the water area of the Kutsurub community. No one was killed or wounded. At the same time, in the Bereznehuvate community, as a result of the fall of the wreckage of a downed drone, a fire broke outat an agricultural enterprise.

"In the Mykolaiv region, they also worked quite powerfully, from the debris from the downing, there is the fact of a fire in one of the agricultural enterprises, but firefighters there quickly coped with the fire. There was no information about the victims," Humeniuk commented.

She noted that the enemy is very insidiously behaving with the use of tactical aviation.

"At the beginning of the night (the enemy – ed.) attacked Kiselivka, Kherson Oblast, with an air-launched cruise missile, probably an X-59. One and a half dozen buildings were destroyed and significantly damaged, four civilians were injured," said the spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces.

She added that the Russians are trying to create tension not only in the frontline territories, but also deeper throughout the southern region.

Cherkasy region was also attacked by drones: an infrastructure facility was hit.

"Air defense forces shot down four enemy air targets. However, we have," said Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

According to preliminary information, no one was injured.
