From October 1, 2023, all female doctors and pharmacists must register for military service.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
"For more than 30 years, the military registration of women doctors and women pharmacists has worked imperfectly, which is why some doctors are not taken into account in it. Therefore, from October 1, 2023, all female doctors and pharmacists who, for some reason, were not there, must be registered for military service," the message reads.
It is noted that all women between the ages of 18 and 60 who have a medical or pharmaceutical education or work in the following specialties: doctor, dentist, midwife, nurse, pharmacist and pharmacist, researcher, head of health care units, etc., must be on the military register. This norm is not new and has been in effect since 1992. Therefore, most women doctors and pharmacists are already on the military register.
The Ministry of Health also emphasized that military registration is not equal to mobilization. Accounting is necessary only to summarize data on the available reserve of doctors in the state.
Also, from January 2023, women studying in a medical or pharmaceutical specialty are registered for military service immediately after graduation. Two months before the end of training, the educational institution submits lists of female graduates to the territorial recruitment and social support centers.
"To register for the military, women who have a medical or pharmaceutical specialty will have 3 years - until December 31, 2026. That is, every woman of the above-mentioned specialty, who is still not on the military register, must register for it within the next 3 years," the Ministry of Health added.
What will happen to employment?
Until December 31, 2026, women with medical and pharmaceutical education will be able to get a job without providing a military ID. However, when hiring, women must be warned that the company will be obliged to notify the Territorial Recruitment Center about it.
Next, the woman must come to the TCC SP on her own for military registration.
Will women be able to travel abroad?
Women doctors and pharmacists can travel abroad without hindrance. Starting from October 1, 2023, there will be no changes in the conditions for women to travel abroad. Every woman with medical and pharmaceutical education can freely cross the state border, regardless of whether she is registered with the military or not. Currently, restrictions apply only to certain categories of civil servants and officials holding certain positions.
