More than 15 folklore groups from all over the country will gather at the International Folklore Festival, which is visiting Pomorie for the first time.

The festival will be held from September 29 to October 1.

It will include both children's folklore groups from Pomorie, Burgas and Aytos, as well as established formations such as Dance Ensemble "Zdravets" - Kameno and Professional Folklore Ensemble (PFA) "Strandzha" - Burgas.

The purpose of the event is to create an authentic environment that will predispose audiences and participants to immerse themselves in the magic of Bulgarian folklore, the organizers add.

Before the official start of the festival, the Crafts and Arts Market "The Shop" will be opened, where visitors will get acquainted with the works of woodcarving, cutlery, pottery, carpet making and other crafts.

The International Folklore Festival will begin with a folklore procession along the central pedestrian street of the Black Sea town. Participants will compete in St. George's Square. St. Cyril and Methodius" in front of the Community Center "Prosveta 1888", where it will hold the official opening of the festival.

The program includes a seminar of the festival horo, which will be led by the chief artistic director of PFA "Strandzha" - Burgas Mario Egov. Among the highlights of the concerts is the performance of the Komiti Orchestra and the Strandja singer Alexandra Dimitrova – Sashka.

The organizers add that for the young visitors are provided lessons and demonstrations of Bulgarian customs, crafts and rituals.
