A resident of Lviv, who recruited Ukrainian women for sexual exploitation in the Netherlands, has been notified of suspicion.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

"According to the investigation, a 35-year-old woman from Lviv, acting in collusion with a person in Amsterdam, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, was looking for attractive women who were in a vulnerable state due to a combination of difficult personal, family or other circumstances," the statement said.

The prosecutor's office said that the suspect offered women "employment" in Amsterdam for the purpose of sexual exploitation, with the condition of paying her 40% of the funds received.

In the course of investigative and operational activities, the offender was exposed while trying to smuggle a 32-year-old Ukrainian woman across the border.

Currently, the detained woman has been served a notice of suspicion of human trafficking under Part 2 of Art. 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.

Investigative actions in the criminal proceeding are ongoing.

Recall that in the Kyiv region, a 21-year-old girl sold women aged 17 to 35 into sexual slavery abroad, in particular to Lithuania, the UAE and Monaco.
