Prime Minister Narendra Modi
New Delhi:New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unveiled a statue of former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary and paid tributes to him at a park opposite the BJP headquarters in Delhi. It is a wonderful and pleasant coincidence to unveil his statue.
"Without proper participation of women in politics, we cannot talk of inclusive society, democratic integration. "Our 'Seva Abhiyan' to take welfare schemes to all beneficiaries without any discrimination is true secularism.
The prime minister said the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill was a victory not only for democracy but also for the BJP's ideology.
"I am always proud of one thing that for me, the great personality with whom we are living, the privilege of sitting at his feet is a great thing in itself. Today, on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, an inspiration for all of us, an inspiring occasion, has always been giving vitality to all of us.
The Prime Minister said that sometimes it seems that his life was also connected to the railway track and my life has also been connected to the railway track. I have come here today directly from that holy place in the morning and this evening I have got the opportunity to inaugurate his statue at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park in Delhi. It's wonderful and enjoyable.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had paid tribute to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Dhankya village in Jaipur district during his visit to Rajasthan. Upadhyay spent his childhood days in Dhankya village, about 30 km from Jaipur. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay memorial has been built at this place.
"The personality and work of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the pioneer of Antyodaya, who devoted his life to the service of Mother India, will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen. My tributes to him on his Jayanti."
Born in Mathura in 1916, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay was an office-bearer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and one of the founding members of the Jana Sangh.
