US claims Trudeau accused India of being based on information about Five Eyes

There is an atmosphere of tension between India and Canada these days over the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused India of killing Nijjar. At the same time, India has rejected his allegation outright. Now a top US diplomat says that Justin Trudeau had a special reason to make such allegations. For the first time, the US has admitted that an intelligence was shared with the Five Eyes Alliance. For this reason, the Canadian PM had made objectionable allegations of the involvement of Indian agents in the murder of Nijjar. According to media reports, the US diplomat said this on Saturday.

US claims Canada's accusations

A report has been released quoting Canada's all-news network CTV News Channel, which said that US Ambassador to Canada David Cohen has said that "shared intelligence was shared with Five Eyes Partners. Trudeau's allegations that Indian government agents were involved in the murder of Joe Nijjar were likely shared with the same alliance. The CTV report is based on his exclusive interview on CTV's show "Question Period with Vaisi Kapelos", which airs on Sunday.

On what basis did Trudeau accuse India?

CTV quoted Cohen as saying that he had confirmed that there was shared intelligence among the Five Eyes Alliance. In fact, ever since the dispute between India and Canada has intensified, the question has been arising on the basis of which evidence Trudeau is making such a big allegation on India. However, he himself has not been able to present evidence in support of his statement.

The CVC report said US diplomat Cohen would not comment on whether the intelligence received by the Canadian government was both human and surveillance-based and whether it included signal intelligence from Indian diplomats. Let us know that this is the first time that America has accepted this.

Tensions between India and Canada

Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance comprising five countries, including the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. It is now being said that whatever allegations the Canadian PM has made against India in the murder case of Hardeep Singh Nijjar on September 18 are based on intelligence received by Five Eyes. However, India has rejected Justin Trudeau's allegations. He termed the allegation as "absurd and politically motivated". Hardeep Singh Nijjar was declared a terrorist in 2020.
