The journey of one billion miles to return ended with the asteroid sample.

Dugaway:

The largest sample ever collected from an asteroid in space. This is the first chance for NASA. Seven years after the mission's launch, NASA's capsule landed in the Utah desert on Sunday after coming into Earth's atmosphere.

"Touchdown of the Osiris-Rex sample return capsule," said a commentator on a live video webcast of NASA's landing. The journey of a billion miles has come to an end by the time the asteroid Bennu returns."

The US space agency estimates that the sample collected from Bennu in 2020 will contain about 250 grams (nine ounces) of material, far more than the two previous asteroid samples brought back by Japanese missions.
