During the counteroffensive in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed one of its formations – the 810th Separate Marine Brigade.

This is stated in the summary of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts refer to the information of the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. In an interview with The War Zone published on September 22, he said that the 810th Brigade of Russian Marines was "completely defeated" in southern Ukraine, its remnants withdrew, and they were replaced by Russian paratroopers at the front.

According to experts, Budanov's description of the status of the 810th Brigade is most consistent with the U.S. Army's doctrinal definition of a tactical mission to "destroy": "to physically make enemy forces combat-ready until they are restored."

It is noted that units of the 810th Brigade have been operating in the Zaporizhzhia direction since March 2023, and since June – in the west of the region, where the Ukrainian counteroffensive continues.

Earlier, Oleksandr Kovalenko said in his Telegram channel that the losses of the Russian Federation in Ukraine continue to grow rapidly, and another record can be expected in the near future.

"As expected, another record will be set for the number of destroyed barrel artillery. During the 3 weeks of September, 680 units were destroyed. For an absolute record, you need to destroy 12 more barrels," he wrote.

On September 22, it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces had lost a significant amount of artillery and lightly armored vehicles, including BMP-2 and BTR-82A, as reported by analysts from the Oryx project. The Ukrainian military also destroyed 5 Ural and KamAZ trucks. 2 Supercam and Zala UAVs were captured.
