As a result of the attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Sevastopol, Russian generals were wounded. They are in serious condition.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the Voice of America.
According to him, as a result of the attack, 9 people were killed and 16 were injured.
"Among the wounded is the commander of the group, Colonel-General Romanchuk, in very serious condition. The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tsekov, is unconscious," Budanov said.
According to him, the number of injured lower-ranking servicemen of the enemy army is being established. These military personnel are not included in the previously announced list.
Journalists noted that Oleksandr Romanchuk is the commander of a group of Russian forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction. And Lieutenant General Oleg Tsekov holds the position of commander of the 200th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Coastal Forces of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.
It is reported that Budanov did not confirm reports of the probable death of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, Admiral Viktor Sokolov. The Main Directorate of Intelligence has no information about his condition yet.
According to Budanov, Ukrainian intelligence collects data from all possible sources, including agents in the occupied territories. The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence did not say what kind of weapon was used to strike Sevastopol.
On September 22, it was reported that the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol was attacked. At first, several loud sounds were heard, after which the Russian occupiers began to put up a smoke screen in the Sevastopol area to avoid repeated attacks, but this did not help save the building from damage.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that a "historical building" was damaged as a result of the strike on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet. Russian propagandists also assured of the successful work of Russian air defense, which allegedly shot down "all five Ukrainian missiles."
