The Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv has published the results of an epidemiological investigation into cases of acute intestinal infection among children attending a private kindergarten in Kyiv. Then four children fell ill, all of them were hospitalized. The food supplier to the establishment is Kids Catering Kyiv LLC.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in Kyiv.

At the beginning of September, specialists conducted an unscheduled measure of state supervision (inspection) of a private preschool education institution at two addresses on the street. Gruzinskaya, 35-A and st. Anna Akhmatova, 35-B.

Compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of food safety and quality was checked with laboratory tests.

Gruzinskaya, 35-A in 10 out of 20 selected washes from environmental objects, bacteria of the Escherichia coli group were detected, two water samples do not meet the requirements of DSanPiN 2.2.4-171-10 "Hygienic requirements for drinking water intended for human consumption"; at ul. Anna Akhmatova, 35-B In 8 out of 20 selected washings from environmental objects, bacteria of the Escherichia coli group were detected.

The detected violations pose a threat to the life and/or health of children. Therefore, the Chief State Inspector made a decision to temporarily suspend the production and/or circulation of food products, issued orders to eliminate violations of the requirements of the legislation on food products, feed, animal by-products, animal health and welfare.
