Military exercises continue on the territory of Belarus, an ally of the Russian Federation, the active phase of which falls on September 22 and 26. The Armed Forces of Ukraine talk about "a certain danger".
This was announced by the Commander of the Joint Operational Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Nayev.
"Accordingly, five training grounds, aviation and combined arms units will be involved. This, of course, does not pose a military threat, but there is a certain danger. Therefore, we, in turn, are increasing vigilance and preparing our forces to respond adequately. This is a common military practice," he stressed.
Naiev stressed that in the event of a threat, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will provide additional forces to respond.
"We are in charge of the forces that are part of the stabilization groups. In the event of an increase in the threat, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will transfer additional forces. This is simple military arithmetic - our forces should be enough to neutralize the military threat," Nayev said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that officials of the executive committees and military commissariats of the region, conscripts of the Mogilev, Osipovichi and Chaus districts, as well as two detachments of the "people's militia" will take part in the exercise.
"The territorial defense forces will work out the issues of protection and defense of important facilities, ensuring martial law measures with the involvement of people's militia units, combating sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy, including live firing of artillery units of territorial troops at the training ground," the statement said.
To recap, Belarus stated that it is ready to conduct joint military exercises with Poland.
